Beads for Life Review

beads for life

Poverty has touched every part of our world. Here in the United States, women are doing what they can to be home with their children and help support the family. I am part of the movement, crafters, bloggers and anyone making the attempt.

I am so amazed at these women in Uganda. The detail they must produce to craft paper beads. Below you will find a video, showing the steps taken to create a bead to create a piece of jewelry. BeadforLife is part of an international grassroots movement to overcome extreme poverty. Helping women make more money than they could ever make working in rock quarries. These woman were making a dollar a day beating rocks by hand.

These women are just like you and me. I have made every effort in my life to support and encourage women. We all need different things to insure a better life and future.

Do You Have “Faith” in Your Blog?

One of my Blogger blogs was mostly faith based. I've tried to incorporate that here. I found it difficult to separate my faith from my general ramblings. I am the kind of person that doesn't set aside time for God. I include Him in everything I do. I talk with Him all day long, rather than put a time limit on prayer or scripture.

I heard of faithful business owners that are known and loved because you can see their faith in everything they do in their business. What about putting those things into practice for your blog? Might your blog be or become your business?

Here I am, one year later. I needed to express myself in a real way, showing the world that being a SAHM is not a bad thing. Our oldest daughter will be turning 19yr next month and my husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary last year in May. So many wonderful changes in my life.

I want to share with you a class I just finished. Profitable Blogging for Beginners is an informative class for anyone wanting to learn more about the basics of blogging. There is information packed into every page of the manual and online classes. If you can not make it to the predetermined class time, don't worry, she sends out class notes. I was able to access the class wizard and re-watch the messaging to pick up a site address I missed.

I’m Impressed! Everyone Should Self-Host!!

I'm now so understanding of why everyone says, "You have to self-host your blog!"

I am officially being hosted by GoDaddy.com . Three weeks ago I bought my domain name, LOVE IT!! Sometime Friday, GoDaddy transfered my blog from Blogger. Everything seems so crisp and smooth.

Just One Word For Last Year…

One word to describe last year would be "New" or maybe "Different". What about "Improved"?
Scrabble, Word GamesImage by windygig via Flickr

I decided in January that I wanted to do something for ME! Imagine that! Don't get me wrong, I have done many, many things for me. Like...

Making sure I got some quiet time.
Mom and Dad get to have a quiet cup of coffee after supper.
Being a SAHM, I needed to do this for me as much as them.

I made my resolutions for the year and posted them here. OK, Are You Tired Of Hearing It? I'm very proud of my comments and the wonderful people that took the time to read my post. The absolute BEST part of 2010 is that I jumped on the wagon! Yes, I got a domain name, I've been postponing it and I am now one of THEM! http://musingmom6.com has a very nice ring to it! Now if I can get everything updated?!?!

This year I hope to find more of the Peace, Joy and Grace that Jenny observed in my post. I have been struggling with how to put this post together and she gave me the inspiration I needed. I have stated before, I'm not the best at getting my thoughts down in print. But I can say with assurance, I am doing better. I know this is what I am supposed to be doing. My writing will get better, in time. My direction will be more clear, like anything else, in time. I'm also finding some interesting blog resources that may help me improve my chances of succeeding as a mompreneur.

This next year, I wish you all the BEST of whatever you are resolving to do. Make it do able, not out of reach. You will have a better chance of SUCCESS.

Now, I'm going to get back to planning my next Babystep. Will you join me?

I'm linking up with Mama Kat. I chose this prompt from Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop.
Choose a word that encompasses 2010 and describe why. What word will you choose as your theme for 2011?
