Sale on Games for the Whole Family! Start Holiday Shopping!

I am one to do my birthday and Christmas shopping year-round. It so easy to save on items when you can watch sales and make purchases a little at a time. I've never been a fan of the "Shop Till You Drop" mentality. It helps me keep my sanity :D

REDBOX Gift Pack Giveaway

redbox.png

REDBOX had a Blog Program a few months ago and it took a long while to get here. I've been hanging onto it as a special giveaway for my readers. Since it is almost Back-to-School time, I can't believe summer is almost over! I am giving away this prize pack so you can celebrate an end to summer or that school is starting.

The package includes:

2 Movies - Waiting for Superman & Morning Glory

Snacks - Orville Redenbacker Movie Theater Butter 3 pack & 1 Sour Patch Kids Pack

Rafflecopter code below.

As a way to save money we have opted out of going to the theater to watch movies. We have always enjoyed watching movies at home with our own snacks. REDBOX is so simple to use. You can order online or your mobile device, iphone and android apps

You can call it a date night and enjoy the company of your spouse, treat the kids to a kid showing in one room while the adults watch something else. Or do the big family night and get a kid friendly movie for the whole family. I still love to watch Disney movies with the kids and teen flicks.

It is so more personal and can be a great time if all family members are covered. So I'm adding to the Prize Pack 4 Redbox Codes. That way if you have young ones you can get a game or a few movies for them too.

I have signed up for the text alerts (see the text info below) and really have watched several movies for Free. About once a month they have sent me a Free code through the summer. Recently Redbox started renting Wii games, Just Dance 2
was a fabulous fun day for the kids. A heads up tho, it costs $2 to rent a game vs the $1 rental on movies.

Text NEW to 727272 to get the latest redbox releases every week.

Text REDBOX to 727272 to get exclusive freebies & deals!

Giveaway Ends 9/14/2011 12:01am

Blueberries for Your Health

Something that seems to becoming more and more important is our interest in being more healthy. There are many resources to find research that backs up a healthy food lifestyle. This is more than an advertisement, I want to share somethings that you can do with Blueberry plants.

One thing that interested me is the possiblility of being able to grow food for your family and possibly have some to share at a farmers market.

A Fun Weekend!

My goodness, this has been an interesting weekend and chock full!

The Facebook and Realized Blessings Hops went well.

Facebook Fanfare doubled the page entries! Whoo Hoo! I made lots of new connections and entered some giveaways. Michele hosts this every week, so make sure to visit her blog Money $aving Michele and link up every Friday. I was very honored to be a guest host this week. Thanks!

Do You Realize Your Blessings? is a hop I started on Another Day In Paradise. This meme is spiritually themed and seem to move a little slower. I would like to let you know I hold it monthly and the schedule is on my Events page. Hopefully, I will have that blog integrated here by then and we can celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Thank you to the new participants!

OK, next was the #NASCAR races. Definitely great weekend! A schedule of the races are listed at NASCAR.COM

I hope everyone else's weekend was as enjoyable!

Fall is in the Air…are you ready?

A mother plays the guitar while her two daught...Image via Wikipedia

August is almost gone, September, October, then getting ready for the biggie Holiday gatherings.

Soon we will be getting the costumes ready for the Tricksters and making treats for the class parties. My days of days of class parties are coming to a close, the youngest 2 in elementary school, 3rd and 5th grades will soon move on to Middle School.

Last year we started a new tradition with Halloween. I have never been a fan. Spooky, Scary, Frightening, just are not my idea of a good time. I'm not a fan of candy corn or those little pumpkin candies either, I guess it is a personal preference. Wanting to take a more spiritual approach, we looked up the traditional history of Halloween or All Hallows Eve and found some really great stories. DD#3 has taken a liking to decorating cakes and we read one of the stories I found. They were all so impressed! I really was shocked at how quiet they all were while listening to me read the story. I am going to do a post about this new tradition in October. It will be fun to share what we found.

Thanksgiving has required some huge transitions, we no longer get together with DH's siblings and his parents think they can't stay here more than 3 hours. With the 4 girls getting older they are showing signs of being bakers, cooks and concocter's. The house will start wafting with the smells of pies, pumpkin & pecan, pumpkin, lemon & wheat breads, too many cookies to mention. The Christmas cookie list is growing longer and I have had to put limits on the number of treats.

I told them last September, that I wanted them to start making the memories they wanted to share with their families. They really got into when they could help pick out what traditions they wanted to keep or new ones to add. I started a binder and we will add to it as we go, change when needed and increase as our family grows. DH and I have always been big with family gatherings. Unfortunately our families haven't been as interested. I want our kids to have the wonderful memories and to share important days with each others families as they each begin their own. It will make me a very happy mother angel in Heaven to know I planted the seed of family for them.

I hope they remember not only the smells of the season but the sights and sounds too. For me I want to make the memories for them that I didn't have and that I couldn't give them. They want family, DH and I have tried to get our respective families to share, be happy, and function. So, since that hasn't worked, we will move on away from the dys-function to something more fun-ctional to us!
