He who pursues righteousness and loyalty Finds life, righteousness and honor.

Entitlement or Privileged?

This kid is amazing! If he had a job he could have fixed up the truck or put his money with his parents, if that was agreeable to the parents, to purchase something more to his liking.

I find the "entitlement" that these kids think they have to be disgusting.

My Dream Date with my Husband

We didn't go on a honeymoon when we got married. We never dreamed things would happen this way. Finances were tight because I had to take a medical leave from work due to carpal tunnel syndrome. Our first anniversary was spent getting settled in a new town and new jobs. Our second was spent recuperating from child-birth and a baby with apnea of prematurity. The list goes on. We've made our time where we could, but we've never really had a getaway.

Motivation Monday — My LIst

Motivation-Monday-Button KLY

I'm joining Kelly's Lucky You for Motivation Monday!

Do you have a New Year’s resolution? Do you have a goal for 2011?

If you wrote a post about your progress, success, or challenges

toward reaching a milestone and would like to share it with others, please leave a link here.

This is my progress on my very doable list for this year. In my previous post: Just One Word For Last Year, I chose, Improved, as I re-read as the main word for this year.
This year is going to be even more improved with more Peace, Joy and Grace.
I have a lot of Hope that I can make it that much more improved than last year.

This is my expand, more detailed  list:
  • I will not say that I "will" do something, if I won't do it.

I run my life like this. Don't make promises you can't keep.

  • I will remember my goals.

I do, sometimes I get down and think things aren't going in the right direction. I'm human, :)

  • I will keep adding content to my blogs. I may be doing something to incorporate all 3 Blogger blogs.

Still have not got this one done. I am trying to decide if I will keep them separate or combine them.

I'm leaning to combing them.

  • I will continue to pursue networking resources. hint: I have a Guest Post next week. DONE

I've joined some Great groups! I have 2 reviews lined up and really looking forward to the future progress.

  • I will continue to schedule my day, a little at a time.

This is going really slow. I have become more adept at keeping my blog and home duties synced. Babysteps :)

  • I will make a video for this blog.

Still on the workbench.

  • I will share some of my organization tips and tricks on coupons.
  • I will share the system I use for bills, checkbook, accounts, etc

These two are on the workbench.

  • I will read more of my bible study.

Not doing so good at this one. I do have an idea that will help once I get my blogs combined.

  • I am going through my email accounts and removing myself from some of the lists I am on. (I am finding more inspiration from blogs, what I have learned to date, and simple trial and error)

Still a work in progress. I have eliminated quite a bit. I have also found a few new blogs to follow by email.

  • I am going to continue to sift through my Google Reader and share things I like on Buzz.

Still working on this. I am organizing and sharing.

  • I am going to continue to be the same caring, hopeful woman I have always been.

I hope this never changes! This truly is a statement of who I am as a person.

  • I will find more ways to bring Joy into my life.

Some JOY can be made, Some JOY just has to happen!

  • I will find more ways to bring Peace into my life.

What I am finding with this, is that, to obtain Peace you have to shake things up that are taking away your Peace.

  • I will find more ways to encourage God's Grace to be shown in my life.

Through prayer I find the most opportunities. God will grant me little inspirations and I act upon them.

  • I will write a post about my experience with a Life Coach.

I completely forgot about this one. Ouch! I will get a draft started this week.

  • I am going to figure out self hosting my blog.
  • DONE!

  • I am going to figure out Word Press, if it kills me!

DONE! Well, partly :)

  • I am going to continue to learn new things.

I guess this really will never be completed. But it is a good reminder not to get stuck in stagnant behaviors.

  • I am going to continue to change the things about my life that I have control over.

Another one that will never be completed.

I hope you will continue follow along on this journey of mine.

I can't promise I will never make a mistake.

But I can promise that this Blog will always be REAL!!

My Proudest Acheivement, to Be Called Mom

We have to work together, lifting each other up to truly be at peace within our our skins. I am happy to be who I am. My obstacles have been put before me by people that want to out me down for my choice. Who are they to decide for me that being a wife and mother is not enough to be considered worthwhile or of value? Guess what, if not for your mother, you wouldn’t be here.

Perception vs Reality

Just Thinking Out Loud...

I have often wondered, if one persons perception is their reality. How can the world find peace?

For then wouldn't my reality of peace be different from your own? Then we would always be in a "tug of war" to fulfill the reality of our own perception of peace?

This can be seen in politics and news. In the religious stands. In the streets where crimes are committed. In the schools where the bullies hide.

I do not believe that the answer is easy. Not many people are willing to leave the confines of their perceptions.

What about you?

I’m Sure This is Really Old News, but…

I have to admit, this was bound to happen. I am guilty of way too much multi-tasking, but OMGosh!

The "Tweeter" in question, thought they were tweeting on their personal account. This persons "job" was to do tweets for @Chrysler. You can read two articles about this HERE and HERE. Why tweet this in the first place? I just don't see the point.

I'm no expert with this kind of thing, though it does seem to me, aren't you supposed to turn off the personal when working or vise versa? I have no idea why someone would tweet something like that to begin with. Wouldn't that be for a DM to a friend?

I've seen the #wineparty tweeters and the upper echelon blogger tweeting about her 2nd glass of wine and how crazy of a kid day she had.

HELLO! Are we that much of a "social" maven? What are we trying to prove? period. How "funny" you are?

Ok, nuf said!

100% my opinion!

Selling Products For Profit

I have been a long time subscriber of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The rise of recalls on products manufactured in China has been on the list more times than I can count. Again today, they released this recall into my email box. One thing that caught my eye was it is in my own backyard, so to speak. Fort Wayne is hours from me in far northern Indiana. What if I went to that trunk show?!

This reads like it could be anyone of us, Blogger, Ebay Seller, Etsy Store Momma's. The interest in business owner, income producing Momma's is at the heart and mind of our driven online activities.

I have to PLEED, Please, think twice before buying into a lot of cute goodies in those Magazines that offer - Get these cute beads 100 ct for $2. That great deal could just be the cause of someone's child becoming ill, injured or even death.

There is a price to put on safety. I also wouldn't want to see someone sued over this kind of thing. I want to make a little money like the next momma, but not at this kind of price.

My Geneology Search

Rabbit's cage with flowersImage by magnio via Flickr

I was born in Oklahoma, 1965.

I can remember going to my aunts house and making "mud pies" on her enormous patio garden. She was a lot older than my mom so her kids were grown and gone. My sister and I spent what seems like hours making those pies.

I also remember playing with my great-uncle's rabbits and how they smelled bad. Visiting my great-grandma always meant getting to play with those rabbits and uncle's goat ate grass close by.

Growing up I had been told we had an American Indian heritage. My great-grandma was too proud to tell anyone about her great-grandma. She was a full blood Cherokee Indian and she married an Irishman. Their daughter married a man from Germany. My dad tells me, that one of our relatives found evidence of Apache on his side. I stumbled onto an ancestor on my mom's side that was one of the first to head west and settle in Colorado. He left a wife and children behind and remarried and had more kids. This man was originally from England.

When I was younger we moved to Indiana. As I started to become interested in my heritage I found that I have  relatives that settled in this area. I moved from one "ancestral home" to another without ever planing it.

There are many very different bloodlines that make up who I am. I have ancestry of natives that protected and took care of this land we call America and immigrants that came here for a new and better life. With this amount of diversity it makes you wonder how we have all survived and flourished. I am a pretty calm person, patient, helpful and kind. It takes a lot and I mean a lot to make me angry. On the flip side, you know I'm mad if you push me.

I wrote a post last week about "visiting the birthplace of your ancestors". Yes, they probably wanted some fabulous post about your travels to Ireland, England, Germany, etc.

But truly, I do walk everyday on the land of my ancestors. America is such a "melting pot" of cultures.

What about you? Do you live in an area where your ancestors immigrated too? Or did you grow up there, move away and now visit?

If you write a post, please link it back here in a comment. I'd love to read it.
