Do You Participate in a Lenten Practice?

Yesterday being Ash Wednesday we all have talked about what to “Give Up”. Several years ago I was introduced to a more complete understanding of Lent.

Not only is it about self denial of something we like or love. It is also more deeply put about improvement and selflessness. I’ve been hearing of other Christian denominations adopting a Lenten practice.

Mary, Mother of Jesus

The Rosary: A Path into Prayer

The most beautiful of prayers. It can be done all at once, in sections at a time, or days of the week are assigned and meditated. Usually a daily reciting takes 20 minutes. I found the Our Lady of Guadalupe website that is set up to click a box to follow along with the rosary. If you have the sit down time you can also play the Ave Maria while following along. It can be peaceful to just listen while checking mail.

A Poem of Hope

HOPE

You can not ignore what is in front of your face.
We all have to learn at our own pace.
Acceptance and growth are needed to obtain God’s saving grace.
We all are called, He only asks us to move at our own pace,
So that we may meet Him in heaven and gaze upon His loving face.
